Curve Balls

So Many Images - So Little Time!

Isn't it great how Life throws You a curve ball now and again? Keeps things hopping!

Stuff happened and I didn't get the Motor Coach I wanted. So I made some other investments and then - what should happen - i NEEDED a Motor Coach. But then didn't have the money for the really nice one I wanted. So I settled for an older Coach that is somewhat of a fixer-upper. Oh well. In another year I should be set to move up to the newer unit.

As is - I flew to South Carolina and got a 35 foot Coach and had to have some repairs immediately - so my schedule was delayed a few days and then I really hurried back - with no sight-seeing and not but a few pics. That day will come.

I have slowed down on the number of Artists I 'watch' but there are just so many of You out there it is hard. I am still collecting many images so I can learn the photography craft better all the time. I hope You enjoy the snaps I post now and again.

THANKS to all the Great Artists who share their joy - sadness - and life on Deviant Art.

Been A While...

So Many Images - So Little Time!

I am down to scanning through a few images during the day and catching up totally with a few categories as I close out my day on the computer.

I still can't believe some of the images I see in the wrong categories. But I digress...

What a bunch of nice people and fantastic artists I have found! I watch probably 30 or 40 - too lazy to count. The talent I have found on this site is incredible - and I know that what little I do barely scratches the surface of ALL the categories and extremely talented people. I am just awestruck every day.

I have been busy building web sites daily and taking a snapshot now and then to put up for folks to look at. I have taken the plunge into my semi-retirement and have initiated the purchase of a Motor Coach. I will be flying from the Great White North of Maine down to Florida to pick it up next week. Then drive the land yacht back. I will be by myself and will be pushing myself to the limits to do nothing but drive and sleep and eat. But I think that 40 foot home on wheels may slow me down from time to time just to enjoy it that much more.

The point - I hope to have some nice images to share upon my return {will not have the setup as yet to really be connected on the road - but that day will come as well}. I hope I take the camera with me. If not - will try to use the Ultra Mobile PC to take some snaps - even tho I have never used that function before.

As always - THANKS to the many artists so willing to share their work.

Just A Few Notes

So Many Images - So Little Time!

Observations from a couple weeks of browsing DA.

I don't know if I ever wanna see a foto of a pecker again. I have had my quota. Geez.

And they crop up in the strangest places. Like 'Glamour' and 'Self-Portraits'. What's up with that?

My final word on peckers is this: I think there are far more fotos of nekkid women compared to fotos of nekkid men. But there are far more fotos of a torso and hips with pecker than there are of torso and hips with coochie. Am I wrong?

Still fascinated with the variations.

I wish people would post in the correct categories.

Enough for now - back to work.

Newbie - Some First Thoughts

So Many Images - So Little Time!

02/26/08

i am just a few days old here - so bear with these thoughts

the images are so incredible - it is all i can do to reign myself in and not spend day and night here just looking

my photo career started some 40 years ago with a Yashica and a few lenses doing high school sports and portraits of my girlfriend who became my wife - i did portfolios for teen girls that did not want to pay a studio big bucks and i took decent enough photos

in a span of about 4 years i took thousands of photos and became quite good - then life came around and i gave up shooting for several years - bought some good equipment again in the late 70's but only used it for snapshots of the family and such - but good snapshots

then no more photos for about 20 years - a move to digital with 'cheap' cameras - and again snaps

still using a low-cost but decent digital and taking a few 'composition' type fotos and some family shots and a few for business purposes - {however - i have supported my younger wife with her career with some really good digital equipment and watched as she has become better and better with her work}

but i am blessed with a photogenic family if i can get them to pose for me from time to time - with practice again i hope to improve some of my deviations
